ISRO extends full support for Research and Academics to Srinivas University: Dr K Umamaheshwaran Scientist - ISRO...

Mangaluru: The inaugural session of the International Conference on Electronics, Mechanical, and Nanotechnology (ICEMN-2023) took place at Hotel Srinivas on December 29, 2023.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Umamaheswaran R., a Distinguished Scientist from ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). Dr. Umamaheswaran highlighted ISRO’s involvement in various activities, emphasizing its reliance on support from the general public and student community. He invited students from Srinivas University to explore opportunities at ISRO, offering hands-on training in satellite and rocket technology.

Dr. S. Muralikrishna, a Scientist from the Sensor Technology Lab at King Mongkut’s University of Technology, Thailand, emphasized the advancements in nanotechnology and Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) batteries during the conference. Dr. Anil Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Srinivas University, discussed current trends and opportunities in technical fields, requesting specialized training for university students from Dr. Umamaheswaran.

Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, Pro Chancellor, assured strong support for research activities at Srinivas University. He anticipated that the conference would foster collaborative research within the university. Dr. CA A Raghavendra Rao informed participants about Srinivas University’s commitment to Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), combined research activities, and collaborations. He expressed a desire for Srinivas University to become a leading research institution, seeking increased cooperation with ISRO.

Dr. Praveen B. M. extended a warm welcome to the attendees, and Prof. Chaitra conveyed the vote of thanks. Prof. Rohan served as the Master of Ceremonies, while Ms. Madhuri Acharya led the invocation song. Prof. Srinath Rao introduced the chief guests to the audience.

The program included the presence of Registrar Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dean Dr. Thomas Pinto, and Head of Electronics Dr. Naveen Kumar J. R. Approximately 100 papers from the UK, Malaysia, and across the country were registered for the conference. The conference aimed to address current challenges and propose solutions through the lens of nanotechnology
