Yenepoya Institute of Technology – Workshop organised by ECE Dept…

Moodbidri: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Yenepoya Institute of Technology, Moodbidri organized two day workshop about “Antenna Design and Simulation” on 17th and 18th Aug 2023.

The event was inaugurated by Resource Persons Dr. Praveen Kumar Konda and Mr. Parveez Shariff B G, alongside Dr. Prasanna Kumar C, Head of the Department, who initiated the proceedings by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

The first day, August 17th, 2023, commenced with Dr. Praveen Kumar Konda, Assistant Professor from the Department of ECE at MIT, Manipal, delivering the initial session on “Introduction to Antennas.” Subsequently, Mr. Parveez Shariff B G, a research scholar from MIT, Manipal, took the stage for the second session, focusing on “Antenna Design Simulation Tools.”

On the following day, August 18th, 2023, Mr. Srikanth Bhat, Director & Head of Hardware Engineering at Manipal Dot Net Private Limited, Manipal, shared his insights during the first session. He emphasized the art of “Working with Antennas to Maximize Performance” and successfully demonstrated HAM radio communication using a Dipole Antenna.

The second session of the day was conducted by Mr. K. Ramachandra Bhat, Chairman and Managing Director of Oshima Systems Private Limited, Mangaluru. He expounded on the topic of “Amateur Radio Antenna Towers.”

Throughout the workshop, active interaction characterized all the sessions, with enthusiastic participation from all the students. This two-day event offered a comprehensive panorama of antenna-related subjects, equipping attendees with the knowledge and tools to excel in the domain of antennas and wireless systems.
