InUnity returns with its new cohort of aspiring entrepreneurs…

Mangaluru: InUnity Mangaluru, a three-month entrepreneurship program, announces its 2nd cohort of 55 budding entrepreneurs at the Young Entrepreneurs Meet at The Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru on 11th June 2022.

This was attended virtually by renowned dignitaries which included Dr. Seetharamu (Director, National Design and Research Forum), Mr. Arjun Ranga (Chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Managing Director, N Ranga Rao & Sons Pvt. Ltd.) Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, (CEO, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) and MD & CEO Lahari – Govt. of India initiative), Ms. Kanchana K.V. (Vice President, Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship).

The first cohort of the InUnity program saw significant achievements. This included the establishment of 3 enterprises, funding support for 1 prototype, and 4 ideas that incubated at host institutions. Seeing this, InUnity is set to continue the success with its second cohort and also scale this program across other regions of Karnataka like Hassan, Mandya and Mysuru. The second cohort received an overwhelming response from over 500 students across 20 technical and non-technical colleges in the Mangaluru region, from which 55 students with an entrepreneurial mindset were selected. This cohort will emphasize on problem statements from the sectors of clean tech and harnessing green energy.

The InUnity pilot program, in partnership with Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) Confederation of Indian Industry Mangaluru(CII) and KDEM ,was initiated with a vision of identifying entrepreneurial youth across the Mangaluru region, to solve local challenges. National Design and Research Forum (NDRF) and Selco Foundation , now joins the consortium to offer support in providing industry-specific experts to guide the students.

Mr. Arjun Ranga, Chairman CII, said that India will be amazing in the next 10 years and that the youth of today will be at the cusp of this change. He urged the young entrepreneurs to take full advantage of this golden opportunity presented to them by InUnity.

Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, CEO, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), congratulated the students for being a part of this unique and innovative program. In this journey, KDEM will stand by InUnity and hopes that this cohort gives rise to many successful entrepreneurs, especially in the domain of rural economy and agriculture. He also prompted the students to build a tech solution as an interface between public grievances and the government.

Ms Kanchana KV, Vice President, GAME, said, “It is a great honor and privilege for GAME to collaborate with InUnity in boosting entrepreneurship in colleges and universities.” She lauded the previous cohort for their exemplary results and hoped that the upcoming cohort will generate greater ideas.

The program aims to enhance the interaction between educational institutions, industry associations, and community stakeholders to develop effective solutions for the community. Over a period of 3 months, students will receive guidance from Industry mentors to use rapid prototyping tools, design thinking methodology and in-depth understanding of business terminologies to build sustainable businesses or innovative services, processes and products for the region.

The InUnity organizer Ms. Hithaishy B calls upon various founders, industry veterans and technocrats to join hands with InUnity in mentoring or extending resources and networks that can help this event bear the outcome as desired.
