Sahyadrians win at Rural India Business Conclave and Agritech Hackathon…

Mangaluru: Dhanush Shettigar, Harshith Kumar, Pushparaj A, and Ramkishor K, interns at DTIlabz and students of Electronics & Communication Engineering, participated in Rural India Business Conclave and AgritechHackathon organized by ICAR- Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI), Kasargod along with Kerala Startup Mission held during 29th Feb to 1st March 2020 at CPCRI, Kasargod, Kerala.

The team won the First Place and Cash Prize of Rs.50,000/-. The two days Hackathon was mainly focused on solving the problems in the agriculture sector. The challenge was to provide irrigation to each component crop in the required ratio. The IOT solution developed by the students is applicable for the existing system and it can also provide water for the entire field as per crop requirement and time. With internet-enabled, it also makes the system completely automated and the monitoring could be done using a mobile application.

The participants also proposed a solution to find the percentage of nutrients present in the agriculture land using a portable device.
