Inauguration of Power Loom Cloth Production Unit at Adyar…
Mangaluru, June 27: A significant step towards rural industrial development and women’s empowerment was marked with the inauguration of the Power Loom Cloth Production Unit at Ambedkar Bhavan, Adyar Padavu. The initiative is a joint venture between Adyar Gram Panchayat and Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru.
The inauguration ceremony took place on June 27 and was formally inaugurated by Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty, Hon’ble MLA, Mangaluru North. Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Hon’ble MLC, was present as the Chief Guest.
The event was presided over by Mr. Abdul Jaleel, President of Adyar Gram Panchayat, and witnessed the participation of panchayat members, representatives of local organizations, and community residents.
Dr. S S Injaganeri, Principal of Sahyadri College, delivered the welcome address. In his inaugural speech, Dr. Bharath Shetty stated that the establishment of the Power Loom Unit would create vital employment opportunities and promote self-reliance among women, thus contributing to inclusive local growth.
Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, in his address, underlined the importance of such rural-based industrial initiatives and appreciated the collaborative efforts of the college and the panchayat.
Presiding over the event, Mr. Abdul Jaleel expressed that the panchayat is committed to supporting initiatives that uplift all sections of society and promote sustainable development.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Vishal Samartha and was compered by Prof. Padmanabha B.
