HYDGEN Dispatches Eight Industrial Hydrogen Systems from Mangaluru Facility
Mangaluru, March 21: In a significant boost to India’s emerging green hydrogen ecosystem, Karnataka-based deep technology company HYDGEN has dispatched eight modular industrial hydrogen generation systems from its manufacturing facility in Mangaluru, marking a major milestone in the commercial deployment of indigenously developed electrolyzer technology.
The dispatch ceremony was inaugurated by Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament Brijesh Chowta, who lit the ceremonial lamp and flagged off the hydrogen generation skids.
Senior leaders of the company, including Dr. Manipaddy Krishna Kumar (Chief Operating Officer), Dr. Goutham Dalapati (Chief Technology Officer), and Ramyasri Doddamani Srivastava (Director), were present along with representatives from industry and the hydrogen innovation community.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Manipaddy Krishna Kumar said the modular hydrogen generation skids designed and manufactured in Mangaluru represent a first-of-its-kind technology platform in India. He noted that the achievement aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and supports the goals of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, while reinforcing the “Make in India” and “Local for Global” initiatives.
Each dispatched unit is a fully integrated on-site hydrogen generation system built using HYDGEN’s proprietary Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer technology. The systems are designed to enable industries to produce high-purity hydrogen on demand at the point of use, eliminating dependence on cylinder logistics and reducing operational costs.
According to the company, the systems have undergone more than 1,500 cumulative hours of real-world operational testing, demonstrating consistent performance under industrial conditions. This operational data provides strong commercial validation of the technology beyond laboratory testing.
HYDGEN’s modular electrolyzer platform offers scalable, skid-mounted configurations that allow industries to expand hydrogen generation capacity as needed. The systems can also integrate with renewable energy sources, enabling the production of green hydrogen where solar or other renewable power is available.
The development comes at a time when India is accelerating efforts to build a domestic hydrogen economy. Under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the country aims to produce five million metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030. Karnataka has also introduced policies encouraging investment in hydrogen manufacturing and deployment.
HYDGEN’s engineering and manufacturing operations are based in Mangaluru, while the company is incorporated in both India and Singapore with an expanding presence across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and North America. Company officials said the systems dispatched from Mangaluru mark the beginning of a broader deployment pipeline for industrial customers in India and overseas.
