Sahyadri College to Sign Consultancy MoU with CHRIST University…

Mangaluru: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management is set to sign a Consultancy Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CHRIST (Deemed to be University) on April 25, 2026, at the Sahyadri campus in Adyar, Mangaluru, marking a significant step towards strengthening academic excellence and industry-oriented education.

CHRIST University, widely recognised for its academic excellence, value-based education, and strong industry integration, along with its wing, the CHRIST Incubation and Consultancy Foundation (CICF), will collaborate with Sahyadri College to enhance the newly launched academic programs for 2026–27, including Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), and Master of Computer Applications (MCA).

The MoU aims to formalise a strategic academic partnership focused on curriculum development, faculty enhancement, experiential learning, and institutional quality improvement. CHRIST University’s Department of Computer Science and Statistics is ranked No. 1, while its BBA program under the School of Business and Management is ranked No. 2 in India, according to India Today rankings.

The collaboration will focus on developing an industry-aligned and NEP 2020-compliant curriculum integrating emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing for the BCA program. The BBA program will include specialisations in Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Retailing, Finance, Marketing, and Human Resource Management.

The MoU will also strengthen faculty competencies through structured training programs, workshops, and mentoring initiatives. Students will benefit from experiential and project-based learning opportunities such as hackathons, coding bootcamps, academic immersion programs, and collaborative research activities.

Additionally, the partnership will support Outcome-Based Education (OBE), accreditation readiness for NAAC and NBA, academic governance practices, ICT-enabled learning, virtual labs, and digital infrastructure development. Faculty and student exchange opportunities and stronger industry partnerships are also expected under the collaboration.

Sahyadri College has also introduced two new programs from the academic year 2026–27: Electronics and Computer Engineering (UG) and M.Tech in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems. The intake for the MBA program has also been increased from 180 to 240 students.

Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, Principal, and Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director of the MBA Program, along with senior management and academic leaders, will lead the MoU signing ceremony. From CHRIST University, Dr. Anil Pinto, Registrar; Dr. Shrinivas K, Head of School of Business and Management; Dr. Vinay M, Head of Department of Computer Science, Statistics and Data Science; and Dr. D. Sandhya, Program Coordinator, Yeshwanthpur Campus, Bengaluru, will represent the institution.

Speaking at a press meet held at Patrika Bhavana, Dr. S. S. Injaganeri said the MoU would be unique in nature and would significantly enhance faculty competencies, students’ learning abilities, and create mutual benefits for both institutions.

Also present at the press meet were Dr. Shamath Rai, Dean Academic; Dr. Mustafa Basthikodi, Professor and Head of Computer Science and Engineering; and Dr. Anush Bekal, Professor and Head of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
