Sahyadri Engineering College – World environment day…

Mangaluru: Sahyadri Institute Innovation Council (IIC) in association with Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), Mangalore organized a world environment day on the theme “Only One Earth” on 7th June 2022.

Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director R&D, President Sahyadri Institution Innovation Council in his welcome speech spoke about the inception of World environment day and also about various acts amended by the state and central government to protect the earth and natural resources.

Sri Kumaraswamy D R, Member Secretary (Retd.), KSPCB, Bengaluru Theme speaker briefed about the evolution of the earth, water resources, and solar system and the contribution of humanity towards sustainable development.

Dr. Maheshwari Singh, Deputy Environmental Officer, KSPCB, Mangalore guest speaker spoke about how we can protect our earth during our day-to-day activities and read out the pledge to the audience which is to dedicate ourselves to the protection of mother earth.

Dr. Rajesha S, the Principal spoke about student responsibility in saving the earth and also, and he talked about managing e-waste in our college.

Sri Devdas Hegde, Trustee, Bhandary Foundation conveyed his best wishes for the best practices in the institute. Prof. G B Janardhana Swamy, Convenor- IIC delivered the vote of thanks and Prof. Lahari Vaidya concluded the inaugural ceremony. The event was concluded by planting saplings on the campus by Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director R&D, President-IIC; Dr. Maheshwari Singh, Deputy Environmental Officer, KSPCB; Dr. Rajesha S, Principal; Sri Devdas Hegde, Trustee, Bhandary Foundation; Dr. Anush Bekal, Vice President- IIC; Prof. G B Janardhana Swamy, Convenor- IIC; Prof. Chandra Singh-ECE, and Mr. Vasanth, Campus Manager. Dr. Rathishchandra Gatti, HoD-Mechanical; Prof. Sunil Kumar, ECE; Prof. Pateel G P, ECE; Prof. Ganaraj, ISE; Prof. Prateek, ISE; Prof. Suchetha, ISE, Mr. Likhith Kumar, Instructor, ECE and students from various department were also present during the inaugural event.
