Sahyadri College Creates History at VTU 26th Inter-College State-Level Athletic Championship…

MANGALORE: Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management has once again etched its name in history by emerging as the Overall Champions at the VTU 26th Inter-College State-Level Athletic Championship. The prestigious event was held at JNNCE, Shimoga, from March 15 to 18, 2025, witnessing participation from 1,434 athletes representing 126 colleges across Karnataka.

Sahyadri’s athletic team secured a remarkable victory by clinching the Overall Championship title for the eighth time with 104 points. The team also bagged the Men’s and Women’s Section Championships while securing second place in the March Past competition.

A Legacy of Excellence in Sports

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, oversees 201 colleges with over four lakh students. Sahyadri College, under the leadership of MLC Shri Manjunath Bhandary, has been participating in VTU sports competitions since 2008-2009. Over the years, the institution has won the overall championship eight times, finished runner-up five times, and secured third place three times in state-level sports events.
