Dr. Mustafa Basthikodi Appointed as Member of VTU Academic Senate…

Mangaluru: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management (SCEM), Mangaluru, has added another feather to its cap as Dr. Mustafa Basthikodi, Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, has been appointed as a Member of the 9th Academic Senate of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi.

This prestigious appointment was formally announced through the Karnataka Governor’s Secretariat Notification No. GS 06 TUM 2025, dated June 25, 2025, under Section 22 of the VTU Act, 1994, and was conveyed by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of VTU.

The Academic Senate serves as the apex academic authority of VTU, instrumental in formulating key educational strategies and policies. Dr. Basthikodi’s inclusion in the Senate is a testament to his exemplary contributions to technical education, research, and academic governance.
