Sahyadri Carnival 2026 Celebrated with Grandeur in Mangaluru…
Mangaluru, April 17: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management hosted “Sahyadri Carnival 2026” with great enthusiasm on its campus on Friday, drawing participation from students across Karnataka.
The event was inaugurated by chief guest Ms. Athmika Amin, Director of JV Group of Companies, in the presence of alumni guest Ms. Raksha Chilimbi (MBA 2020–22), Audit Associate at KPMG GDC. Trustee Mr. Devadas Hegde, Principal Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, Vice Principal and Controller of Examinations Dr. Sudheer Shetty, Director of MBA Programme Dr. Vishal Samartha, Dean of Strategic Planning Prof. Ramesh K. G., and Programme Coordinator Prof. Anirudh Bhat were among the dignitaries present.
Welcoming the gathering, Dr. Vishal Samartha set the tone for the event, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Prof. Anirudh Bhat provided an overview of the carnival, highlighting key attractions such as “Whiz Quiz,” “Marketverse,” and “Student Corner.” More than 600 students from various colleges across the state qualified for the grand finale.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Athmika Amin urged students to step out of their comfort zones, enhance problem-solving skills, and make the most of networking opportunities. Alumni Ms. Raksha Chilimbi emphasized the importance of confidence, communication, and experiential learning.
In his presidential address, Principal Dr. S. S. Injaganeri highlighted the institution’s rapid growth and its vision of attaining deemed-to-be university status. He also announced a consultancy MoU with Christ University, Bengaluru, to introduce new academic programmes such as BBA, BCA, and MCA. The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by student coordinator Vishaka Pai.
The carnival featured the Sahyadri Whiz Quiz, conducted by quizmaster Rakshith Shetty, which provided a dynamic and competitive platform for participants. The campus also hosted over 20 stalls, including company-led and student-run initiatives, attracting large crowds and adding vibrancy to the event.
In the quiz competition, Thrisha Vidya College of Commerce & Management, Katpadi, secured first place, followed by SDM College, Ujire, in second place, and MAPS College, Mangaluru, in third. The winners received cash prizes of ₹25,000, ₹15,000, and ₹10,000, respectively, while the remaining three finalist teams were awarded consolation prizes of ₹4,000 each.
In the “Student Corner” category, “Just Tails” from Nitte Swarosh College emerged as the winner.
