RV Skills Design Centre to Support SCEM’s Newly Approved MTech Programs in VLSI Design & Embedded Systems…

Mangaluru: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management (SCEM), Mangaluru, has received a significant boost to its semiconductor-focused education initiatives with enhanced industry collaboration aimed at strengthening academic and research activities in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems.
The development was highlighted during the 7th Board of Studies Meeting of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) held on May 30, 2026. Addressing the meeting virtually, Shri Basavaraj Nagaraju, Chief Executive Officer of RV Skills Design Centre (Centre of Excellence in VLSI Design), reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting the department’s newly approved M.Tech programmes in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems, as well as the existing B.E. programme in Electronics & Communication Engineering.
The collaboration traces its origins to the vision of Shri Manjunath Bhandary, Hon. Chairman of SCEM, who initiated discussions with Dr. M.P. Shyam, President of RV Institutions, Bengaluru. Subsequently, Dr. Anush Bekal, Head of the Department of ECE, advanced the discussions with RV Skills Design Centre, laying the groundwork for a strong academic partnership in semiconductor technologies.
During his address, Shri Nagaraju highlighted the vast opportunities emerging in India’s rapidly growing semiconductor sector and stressed the need for producing industry-ready professionals in VLSI design and embedded systems. He expressed RV Skills Design Centre’s willingness to support the institution through curriculum enhancement, faculty development programmes, laboratory initiatives, industry mentorship, internships, certification programmes, and project guidance.
The association further strengthens the department’s semiconductor ecosystem and complements its existing collaborations with KARMIC DESIGN Pvt. Ltd. and Anmaya Technologies, organisations known for their expertise in VLSI design, embedded systems, FPGA solutions, and semiconductor innovation.
Members of the Board of Studies appreciated the department’s progress and commended its efforts to build strong industry partnerships, enrich the undergraduate ECE programme, and support the successful implementation of the newly introduced M.Tech programmes.
With these strategic collaborations and advanced academic offerings, the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at SCEM continues to reinforce its position as a leading centre for semiconductor education, innovation, industry engagement, and talent development in the region.
