Mangaluru, November 3, 2025: In a significant step towards advancing India’s clean energy and green hydrogen capabilities, HYDGEN has announced the launch and shipment of its first indigenously engineered hydrogen electrolyser, designed specifically for applications in the lab-grown diamond sector.
The first HYDGEN electrolyser unit was unveiled by Captain Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Dakshina Kannada constituency, at the HYDGEN facility located within the Sahyadri Campus, Mangaluru. The event was attended by Dr. Manipaddy Krishna Kumar (COO, HYDGEN), Ms. Ramyasri Doddamani Srivastava (Director), Dr. S. S. Injaganeri (Principal, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management), along with members from the industry and hydrogen innovation community.
The launch marks a major milestone in HYDGEN’s journey towards innovation, indigenisation, and sustainable energy solutions. Designed, engineered, and assembled entirely at the company’s in-house facility, the electrolyser represents a breakthrough in scalable and efficient green hydrogen technology catering to industrial and mobility sectors.

The newly launched HYDGEN DIA-S 5 kW PEM Electrolyser boasts a hydrogen generation capacity of 1 Nm³/h with 99.9995% purity at 10 bar pressure. The system is custom-engineered for Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) processes used in lab-grown diamond manufacturing, where hydrogen plays a vital role in removing non-diamond carbon and maintaining the plasma environment required for diamond formation.
