Synergia ’25: A National-Level Innovation Extravaganza Unites Young Minds at Sahyadri Campus…
Mangaluru, Nov 8: Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru, in association with the SHINE Foundation, successfully hosted Synergia ’25—a three-day national-level mega event that brought together students from Grade 8 to engineering level on a single innovation platform.
Day 1 – A Grand Beginning of Innovation and Collaboration
The inaugural ceremony of Synergia ’25 was graced by Chief Guest Ms. Tina Bodin, Head of HR at EG A/S, along with Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, Principal; Mr. Jagannath Chowta and Mr. Devadas Hegde, Trustees; Dr. Sudheer Shetty, Vice Principal; Dr. Shamanth Rai, Dean Academics; and Dr. Prashantha Rao, Dean Student Welfare. Also present were Mr. Prakyath Rai, Lead Data Scientist, EG India, and Ms. Jeevitha J. S., Chief Event Coordinator.
Over 300 institutions registered for a range of technical and non-technical events. Ms. Bodin applauded the creativity and innovation of Indian youth, emphasizing EG A/S’s ongoing engagement with Sahyadri talent. Dr. Injaganeri highlighted Synergia’s role as a vibrant platform for interdisciplinary collaboration and creativity.
Inspirational sessions followed, including a motivational talk by Mr. Johnson Tellis, CEO, encouraging students to pursue experimentation and innovation, and an expert lecture by Dr. Pruthviraj Umesh, NITK Surathkal, on integrating AI and engineering for sustainable solutions. Mr. Raghu Anand, EG A/S, delivered a DevTalk on Google’s A2A Protocol, while Team Challengers conducted an Aerodynamics workshop. The day also witnessed the launch of DEVHOST 2025 and its 36-hour DEVHACK hackathon.
Day 2 – Technology Meets Competition
Day two showcased a thrilling lineup of competitions and workshops. Gaming tournaments like BGMI Mega-Clash and Valorant Fire Ball drew wide participation from across the country. Aeromodelling, Rubik’s Cube, Chess, Drone Race, and Robo Soccer events added to the excitement, with over 150 teams competing across categories.
Master Class 02, led by Charis Pinto and Samwin Stev Pereira, explored the evolving roles of AI-driven developers. DevTalks by Aakansha Doshi (Project Excalidraw) and N. Ananthakrishnan Potti (OLA) provided insights into open-source collaboration and cloud security.
The Sahyadri Open Source Community (SOSC) organized “How I Met My Investor”, an idea-pitching event judged by Mr. Manoj S and Mr. Ashish Rai. Team Navigo emerged winners, followed by Team Parakaram. The day also featured events like “Oh My Grid – UI Battle” and “O(n)slaught”, a coding competition with a ₹10,000 prize pool, won by Abdul Shaz from Sahyadri.
Day 3 – A Sky Full of Innovation
The final day began with the spectacular Aerophilia Airshow, featuring drones, quadcopters, and model aircrafts performing synchronized stunts and formations. The event was graced by Dr. Vijaya Kumar B. P., Professor and Head, AI & DS, MSRIT, Bengaluru.
Other highlights included the Hovercraft Challenge, Robo Sumo organized by the Sahyadri Robotics Club (SRC), and the Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt (SSTH) project evaluation, where school and PU students presented innovative science models.
The DEVHACK hackathon concluded with project evaluations by Mr. Raghu Anand, Mr. Suraj Nagraj, and Mr. Suhas Rao. A panel discussion on “Artificial Intelligence and Creativity”, moderated by Prof. Samarth Shenoy, featured experts from ISRO, MSRIT, and industry leaders, exploring the intersection of technology and imagination.
Valedictory Ceremony – Celebrating Innovation and Achievement
The three-day fest concluded with a grand valedictory function featuring Dr. Shamanth Rai, Dr. Sudheer Shetty, Mr. Allan Bech (CTO, EG A/S), Mr. Anand Fernandes (CEO, EG India), Dr. Vijaya Kumar B. P., and Mr. Vilas T. Rathod (Senior Scientist, ISRO ISTRAC). Prizes were distributed to the winners across various events, and participants shared their experiences and learnings.
Principal Dr. S. S. Injaganeri expressed gratitude to all participants, partners, and volunteers for making Synergia ’25 a grand success, calling it “a true celebration of innovation, collaboration, and youthful energy.”
