Mangaluru, April 1: The athletic team of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management has once again showcased its sporting excellence by clinching the Overall Championship for the ninth time at the VTU 27th Inter-Collegiate State-Level Athletic Championship.
The championship, held at Kalpataru Institute of Technology, Tiptur, from March 26 to 29, witnessed intense competition among participants from across the state. Sahyadri athletes delivered an outstanding performance, securing a total of 140 points.
In individual honours, Pranay J. Shetty was adjudged the Best Athlete in the men’s section, while Pallavi J S was named Best Athlete in the women’s section.
The team also dominated both categories, winning the Men’s Championship with 57 points and the Women’s Championship with 73 points. Additionally, Sahyadri secured second place in the March Past event.
The prestigious meet saw participation from as many as 2,232 athletes representing 137 colleges, underscoring the scale and competitiveness of the event.
