Moodbidri: The Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Internet of Things (IoT): Exploring Applications and Innovations” was a resounding success, held from September 11th to September 15th, 2023, at the Yenepoya Institute of Technology (YIT). Sponsored by ISTE Karnataka Section and VTU, and organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, the FDP brought together experts and participants to delve into the exciting world of IoT.
The program commenced with an inauguration ceremony featuring Dr. Niranjan U C, Research and Innovation Director, Manipal Dot Net, Manipal, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Niranjan’s keynote address highlighted the transformative potential of IoT, emphasizing its applications, innovations, and its role in shaping the future of technology.
The FDP included informative sessions, hands-on workshops, and engaging discussions led by experts in the field. Topics ranged from IoT security, IoT boards and protocols, microcontroller circuits, Internet of Vehicles (IoV), to AI-powered IoT. These sessions provided valuable insights into the diverse applications and challenges of IoT, equipping participants with practical knowledge.
Participants had the privilege of visiting the MAHE ISAC Centre for Excellence for Cybersecurity and Manipal Universal Technology Business Incubator (MUTBI). These visits provided insights into cutting-edge research, cybersecurity preparedness, and innovative startups in the field of IoT.
The FDP concluded with a valedictory function graced by Mr. Adithya M D from IISc, Bangalore. Certificates were distributed to acknowledge the successful completion of the program. External participants also shared their feedback, highlighting the value and impact of the FDP.
The Faculty Development Program on IoT at Yenepoya Institute of Technology served as a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and exploration of IoT’s vast potential.
