AICTE Sponsored One-Week STTP organized by Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management…
Mangaluru: The Inaugural Ceremony of the AICTE Sponsored One-Week Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “Innovative Approaches in Teaching Pedagogy” for faculty of AICTE affiliated institutes was held on 31st May 2021.
Col. B Venkat, Director of Faculty Development Cell (FDC), AICTE-New Delhi was the Chief Guest alongside Dr. S Manjappa, Director-Research, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management; Dr. Rajesha S, Principal, Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA Programme (Chairperson) and Prof. Sushma V (Convener).
Dr. Rajesha S welcomed the guest and the participants to the training. He also introduced Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru and its achievements to the guests. Dr. Vishal Samartha, shared the glimpse of the Training Programme and the details of the 22 sessions planned for the week.
Col. B Venkat, in his Opening Remarks appreciated Sahyadri for its student centric-initiatives and the progress it has made in such a short period of span. He congratulated the organizers of the training for selecting the Theme as “Innovative approaches in Teaching Pedagogy” since it is one of the recommendations in National Education Policy. He inspired the participants to attend the training wholeheartedly and not for certificate alone as he was thrilled to view the programme schedule with so many sessions including hands-on experiences being planned for the training.
Dr. S Manjappa, in his Presidential address recapitulated how Sahyadri College has grown in leaps and bounds. He briefly narrated the Sahyadri Culture and its intent to collaborate with AICTE in order to drive quality initiatives for students as well as faculty of the nation.
Prof. Sushma V, in her Vote of Thanks, recalled the encouragement given to her in applying for Government Funding and the guidance she received from the leaders and peers at Sahyadri College which not only empowers a faculty but also enables them to contribute to the society at large. The Inaugural Ceremony was hosted by Prof. Akshaya Kumari Shetty.
The Short Term Training Programme (STTP) is organized in 3 Phases – Phase 1: 31st May to 5th June 2021, Phase 2: 14th June to 19th June 2021 and Phase 3: 24th June to 30th June 2021. More than 600 registrations have been received from across the country from states like Andhra Pradesh, New Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Kerala, Odisha, Punjab, West Bengal, Haryana, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Goa and Karnataka. The resource persons are a blend of both Industry and Academia who would be engaging a total of 22 sessions per phase.
