BHARAT SHAKTI: AI & Quantum Symposium Showcases India’s Technological Future at Sahyadri College…
Mangaluru: The Department of CSE (AI & ML) at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, in collaboration with the SHINE Foundation under the GENESIS Scheme, successfully organised the AI & Quantum Symposium titled “BHARAT SHAKTI: Catalysing Innovation for an Aspirational Bharat” on December 10, 2025. The event brought together leading experts in Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Science and emerging technologies to inspire students and highlight India’s advancing technological roadmap.
The inaugural ceremony began with a welcome address by Dr. Pushpalatha K., Head of the Department, followed by the presidential address from Principal Dr. S. S. Injaganeri. He stressed the need for technological curiosity, innovation, and active student participation to drive India’s rapidly evolving tech ecosystem.
The lamp-lighting ceremony was conducted by students of the AI & ML Department along with eminent guests: Prof. P. C. Deshmukh, Quantum Scientist at IIT Madras and IIT Tirupati & Advisor at Bharat WHYTEC; Shri Madhav Bissa, Director of Artificial Intelligence & Data Sciences at nasscom.ai; Prof. Udaya Birje Raghunath, Cofounder of ThinkStreet Technologies; Principal Dr. Injaganeri; and Dr. Pushpalatha K.
Prof. Udaya Birje Raghunath delivered an inspiring talk emphasizing the role of indigenous technological development in strengthening Aatma Nirbhar Bharat. He encouraged students to help position Mangaluru as an emerging technology hub and shared five principles of authentic leadership rooted in clarity, purpose and integrity.
Shri Madhav Bissa engaged the audience with a dynamic session on intelligent systems and agentic AI. He urged students to acquire future-ready skills and understand the transformative impact of AI in shaping India’s growth.
Prof. P. C. Deshmukh offered deep insights into the expanding realm of quantum technology and its potential global impact. He stressed the importance of quantum encryption in building secure digital infrastructures and highlighted promising avenues for research in the field.
The symposium concluded with the resource persons felicitating the Principal, recognizing Sahyadri College’s strong contributions toward fostering innovation and research-driven learning. The event was coordinated by Dr. Sadhana Rai, Prof. Shruthi Vishwajeeth, and Prof. Sowmya Kulal.
