Moodbidri: The inaugural ceremony of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Students Association “ECHOLECTIC” for the academic year 2023-24 took place on Dec. 15 in Yenepoya Institute of Technology, Moodabidri.
Dr. Manjaiah D H, Senior Professor & Director of PMEB, and Coordinator of RUSA, Department of PG Studies and Research in Computer Science, Mangalore University, Mangalagangotri, Mangalore, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The event was presided over by Dr. R G D’Souza, Principal, YIT. Dr. Prasanna Kumar C, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Dr. Shashank M Gowda, Faculty Advisor of ECHOLECTIC, and Ms. Sushrutha K T, President of ECHOLECTIC, also participated in the ceremony.
The program commenced with a prayer, setting a solemn tone for the proceedings. Dr. Shashank M Gowda, the Faculty Advisor, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, highlighting the significance of ECHOLECTIC in fostering a collaborative and innovative environment within the department. Ms. Sushrutha K T shared the vision and core principles of the association, emphasizing its role in enhancing the academic and extracurricular experience of students.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed, symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment. Dr. R G D’Souza, in his Presidential address, motivated the students to actively engage with ECHOLECTIC, encouraging them to make the best use of the association for their academic and personal development.
The subsequent technical talk on “Present Trends in Computer Communication and Network Technology” by Dr. Manjaiah D H provided valuable insights into the cutting-edge advancements in the field. The resource person shared information on emerging trends, research opportunities, and stressed the importance of staying abreast of developments in electronics and communication engineering.
